RAIPUR,INDIA: Chhattisgarh is poised to play a pivotal role in achieving India’s target of producing 300 million tonnes of steel by 2030, as emphasized by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai at the All India Steel Conclave 2.0 held at Mayfair Lake Resort, Nava Raipur on Friday.
Addressing delegates from 17 states, the Chief Minister underscored the state's commitment to supporting the steel industry and fostering economic growth.
Highlighting the silver jubilee year of Chhattisgarh’s establishment, Sai expressed confidence in the state’s potential to contribute significantly to the nation’s steel production. He noted the state’s abundant resources, including iron ore, coal, and electricity, which position Chhattisgarh as the third-largest steel producer in India.
Sai also pledged Chhattisgarh’s strides toward green steel production and emphasized the importance of adopting environmentally sustainable practices in the industry.
The two-day conclave brought together 1,500 delegates to deliberate on challenges and opportunities in the steel sector. The Chief Minister praised industry stakeholders for their innovative use of advanced technology to boost production and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to creating 5 lakh new jobs under its industrial policy. Sai also highlighted the launch of the Single Window System 2.0, an integrated platform designed to provide seamless services to industries, businesses, and startups.
Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan spoke about the state’s investment-friendly policies, which are attracting significant interest from industrialists. He urged participants to promote Chhattisgarh’s industrial policy widely, ensuring maximum participation in the state’s development journey. Dewangan highlighted the state’s vast reserves of mineral resources and its unique position as a forested region with immense development potential.
Member of Parliament Brijmohan Aggarwal emphasized the importance of balancing industrial growth with environmental sustainability. He encouraged industries to leverage Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to improve the quality of life for residents.
The conclave is expected to open new avenues for investment and innovation in Chhattisgarh, further solidifying its position as a powerhouse of India’s steel industry while addressing climate challenges and advancing the state’s economic progress.
