RAIPUR,INDIA: A 16-member delegation from the National Defense College, Ministry of Defense, New Delhi, is on a six-day visit to Chhattisgarh.
Led by Divisional Commissioner Mahadev Kawre, the delegation met Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain to discuss various welfare schemes of the state. They also held discussions with the Director General of Police regarding law and order, strategies for Naxal elimination, and related security measures.
The delegation includes officers from the armed forces of countries like Abu Dhabi, Morocco, Nigeria, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, along with Indian defense officials. They visited the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur and the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) in Nava Raipur to understand the region’s infrastructure development and smart city initiatives.
As part of their tour, the delegation visited Sirpur in Mahasamund district, where they explored historical sites and interacted with women's self-help groups under the Bihan program. The women shared their experiences of economic and social empowerment through group activities. Local officials, including the district collector and police superintendent, were present during the visit.
