CG NEWS: Water supply schemes for five cities approved

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Friday chaired the sixth meeting of the State Level High Power Steering Committee for Mission Amrut 2.0 approved water supply schemes across six cities.

The comprehensive project report was placed for approval. The schemes will provide tap connections to over 26,603 households, with an estimated project cost totalling around Rs 354 crore. The State Town and Country Planning Department's State Action Plan for Mission Amrut-2.0 received approval.

Saumil Ranjan Choubey, Chief Executive Officer of the State Urban Development Agency, gave a detailed presentation on an overview of water supply schemes for five cities under Mission Amrut 2.0. He shared detailed insights regarding the water supply schemes in Shivrinarayan (Janjgir-Champa), Kondagaon (Kondagaon district), Bhanupratappur (Kanker district), Kunkuri (Jashpur district), Sukma (Sukma district), and Amdi (Dhamtari district).

The Central Government awarded the state an incentive of Rs 69.77 crore under the Amrut Mission.

During the meeting, a state action plan totalling Rs 5.65 crore was approved for ten cities under Amrut Mission-2.0 including Bhatapara, Chirmiri, Mahasamund, Dalli-Rajhara, Dongargarh, Kawardha, Naila-Janjgir (M), Champa (M), Kanker, and Dhamtari of Town and Country Planning Department.
