BEMETARA: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday pledged to start post-graduate classes of Vegetable Science, Fruit Science in Horticulture College, Saja and of Entomology and Agronomy in Agriculture College.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of newly constructed building and boys-girls hostel of Kumari Devi Choubey Agriculture College in village Maubhatha of development block Saja of Bemetara district.
He unveiled the statue of Kumari Devi Choubey and inaugurated and performed Bhumi Pujan of various development and construction works worth Rs. 157.13 crore in the district.
He said in the last four and a half years many welfare schemes have been implemented for the state farmers. Money is reaching the pockets of the farmers through these schemes.
He underlined the benefits derived by the people under different schemes. Rural Industrial Parks in Gauthans are providing more employment opportunities in rural areas. It is also being established in urban bodies. The products are being sold in the local market as well as through C-Mart.
He said Kodo Kutki and Ragi are being procured by the government on support price. He said that for the first time 94,000 quintals of millet crops have been procured in the state.
No one could even imagine that people would be able to improve their economic condition by selling cow dung, but it has become possible in the state. The schemes of the state government are changing the lives of the people and they are becoming financially strong.
Agriculture Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu spoke on the radical change in the agriculture sector.
