RAIPUR: The Comptroller and Auditor General of India’s, Office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit) organised Audit Week which concluded on Friday.
The foundation day of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India November 16 is celebrated every year as “Audit Day”.
On concluding day of the Audit Week, Director General of Economic Offenses Investigation Bureau, D.M. Awasthi, Secretary of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Dinesh Sharma, Principal Accountant General (Audit) Yashwant Kumar, Principal Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlement) P. C. Manjhi and other officers and employees of the department were present.
During the Audit Week, workshop on the subject of Government Accounting, Audit and Accountability for students and teachers studying in Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur, for officers and employees of various Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies and related representatives and members were organised.
Workshop based on purchasing process and GeM for central offices located at Raipur, workshop on audit awareness among railway officers and employees in Bilaspur, drawing and disbursing officers related to civil accounts and officers of treasuries, sub treasuries and finance department. Workshops were also held.
Nikhil Kumar Maheshwari, a student of Raipur, was awarded the first prize by President of India, Droupadi Murmu on the inauguration of Audit Day in Delhi for winning the online essay competition.
