Raipur, CG: Chhattisgarh School Education, Higher Education, Tourism, Culture and Endowments Minister Brijmohan Agarwal on Thursday held a marathon meeting of all the departments under him for more than 6 hours at Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur.
Aggarwal called for organizing the Rajim Kumbh Mela, to be a grand one. He spoke about making a parikrama path around the Rajim temple and promoting the fair.
On development of tourism, he said that there is a need to build mall roads on the lines of Shimla and Manali in hill station cities like Mainpat in Chhattisgarh. Places like Ramgarh and Chaiturgarh of Surguja will be developed as hill stations so that they can attract state as well as national and international tourists. He asked officials to prepare a definite action plan for providing 'Shri Ram Lalla Darshan to the people of the state' included in the manifesto.
Reviewing the School Education Department, he said the government will not act with prejudice regarding any scheme. The recruitment and appointment process of departments was transparent and said that any kind of corruption will not be tolerated. He asked to start the counseling process of the remaining selected candidates in the previous recruitment in the Education Department soon.
Aggarwal said that now high quality cycles will be distributed free of cost to all the boys and girls of class 9th and air-pumps will be provided in the schools. The officials need to prepare to provide free education as well as free textbooks to every student up to class 12th.
Under the Chief Minister Knowledge Promotion Scheme, it was also decided to increase the incentive amount from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 for the meritorious students of Scheduled Caste and Tribe in the regular class 10th and 12th board examination.
There will be a provision of quality free coaching for CA, CS, Banking, Railways as well as all competitive examinations in the state. The officials need to ensure that in the new appointments, teachers should be posted on the basis of merit in the nearby districts only.
Instructions were given to prepare an action plan for opening English medium sections in 100 pre-established colleges of the state. Aggarwal asked to make recruitment rules for vacant posts within 7 days.
He instructed the officials to raise funds for colleges under CSR and try to provide better arrangements. Provide government bus fare or passes to those students who are unable to come to college due to lack of funds.
