Raipur, CG: Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan on Monday reached the Shanti Nagar residence of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and offered floral tributes to his father Nandkumar Baghel. He expressed deep condolences.
He prayed to God to grant peace to the deceased soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear the loss.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed deep condolences on the demise of Nandkumar Baghel, father of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. He prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace and empathized with the bereaved family.
Speaker Dr Raman Singh through a tweet said, “The news of the demise of father Nand Kumar Baghel ji is sad.
I pray for the peace of his departed soul and for the patience and strength of his family and supporters in this sad time.”
Leader of Opposition Dr Charan Das Mahant and Jyotsana Mahat Korba also expressed their condolences.
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhkhu, Kamal Nath, PL Punia, Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, Vivek Tankha, Kumari Selja, BK Hariprasad called Bhupesh Baghel and expressed condolences.
CPCC President Deepak Baij, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant, former minister Ravindra Choubey, Tamradhwaj Sahu, Mohan Markam and senior leaders of the state along with many MLAs and Congress leaders reached Patan Sadan. Tributes were paid to the mortal remains of Nandkumar Baghel by offering flowers.
State Congress President Deepak Baij said, “Nandkumar Baghel was the flag bearer of the fight for the deprived class. His socialist thinking is relevant even today. I pray to God to give him a place at his feet and give strength to his family to bear this loss.”
Former CM Bhupesh Baghel on Monday through a tweet had intimated that, “It is with sadness that we have to inform you that Babuji Nand Kumar Baghel has passed away this morning. Presently the body has been kept in Patan Sadan.”
He further states, “After my younger sister returns from abroad, the last rites will be held on 10th January in our home village Kuruddih.”
