Rains hit Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India: Along with the capital city of Chhattisgarh, Raipur in several districts of state was hit by storm and rain on Monday, showing change in weather condition. Raipur and other cities witnessed light thunder with showers. It had brought down the rising temperature. The Meteorological department had predicted hail storms in several districts of the state.

Meteorological scientist H P Chandra of Meteorological Centre Lalpur said there is change in weather conditions due to heavy moisture in Bay of Bengal. Due to which in the next 5 days, Chhattisgarh will witness storms accompanied by rain with slight thunder showers or hail-storms. Due to which there will be a drop in temperature by 2-4 degree Celsius.

He added, on Monday and Tuesday (March 19) at several places wind speed will be higher with thunder and hail storms. But on March 20-21, there is no warning of rain or hail storms but there will be cloudy conditions due to which the temperature will be lower. The possibility of rains are in Balrampur, Surguja, Jashpur, Raigarh, Janjgir, Mungeli, Bilaspur, Koriya, and Kabirdham. 

Due to rains in Capital City, Raipur the power supply was disrupted for hours. It was restored late at night.
