Agarwal underlines Centre’s swift development projects

RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brijmohan Agarwal praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government for its rapid implementation of development projects, citing the "mantra" of service, good governance, and welfare for the poor as the driving force.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP office in Ekatm Complex, he stated that within the first 100 days of its third consecutive term, the Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has initiated projects worth nearly Rs 15 lakh crore, setting the nation on a fast track toward achieving the vision of a "developed India" by 2047.

Agarwal highlighted that the budget provisions clearly demonstrate the government's commitment to the welfare of India's 140 crore citizens, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development. He noted that projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore were approved in the first 100 days, with a focus on road, rail, port, and airways infrastructure.

Among the key projects mentioned was the Rs 76,200 crore Wadhawan Mega Port in Maharashtra, which is expected to rank among the world's top 10 ports. Additionally, the foundation stone for the Shin-Khun-La tunnel, connecting Ladakh to Himachal Pradesh, was laid. To improve rail travel, eight new railway line projects were approved, generating employment of 4.42 crore man-days. Approval was also granted for the development of the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi and new civil enclaves at Bagdogra in West Bengal and Bihta in Bihar. Furthermore, new airstrips are planned for Agatti and Minicoy.

The government also greenlit the expansion of metro systems, including Phase-3 of the Bengaluru Metro, Pune Metro expansion, and the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project. Discussing Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-4, Aggarwal mentioned that Rs 49,000 crore would be allocated to construct and upgrade 62,500 km of roads and bridges, connecting 25,000 previously unconnected villages. Additionally, a Rs 50,600 crore investment was approved to further strengthen India's road network.

Agarwal concluded by emphasizing the Modi government's steadfast commitment to transforming India's infrastructure and ensuring the well-being of its citizens through comprehensive and swift action.
