BILASPUR,CG,INDIA: Vice-Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, announced that seven faculty members from the university have been included in Stanford University's prestigious top 2% global ranking of scientists. The recognition is a result of their dedicated work in research, innovation, and new initiatives. The ranking is based on the quality of their research and citations.
Chakrawal congratulated the faculty members, emphasizing that academic growth and institutional excellence are measured through research, innovation, and patents.
He stressed that such global recognition reflects the university's commitment to fostering a positive and creative academic environment. He expressed optimism that the university will continue achieving new milestones across all departments.
Four faculty members from the Pharmacy Department were included in the list, along with one professor from the Chemistry Department and two from the Computer Science and Information Technology Department.
Faculty members recognized are Chemistry Department: Prof. Gautam Kumar Patra, Pharmacy Department: Prof. Dilip Kumar Pal, Prof. Dinesh Kumar Mishra, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Bharti, Dr. Partha Pratim Roy, Computer Science and Information Technology Department: Dr. Prabir Kumar Sethi, and Dr. Santosh Kumar Majhi.
The global ranking, published by Stanford University, identifies top scientists across various research fields. It is based on comprehensive metrics like the C-score, H-index, and HM-index, all derived from the Scopus database. These indicators highlight the impact of a scientist's work on their field, with the C-score ranking placing them in the top 2% of researchers in their subfields.
